Εγκαίρως για τις γιορτές των Χριστουγέννων, η Ακαδημία ανακοίνωσε το καλύτερο δώρο για μια σειρά από ταινίες, οι οποίες περιλαμβάνονται στις υποψηφιότητες για τα Όσκαρ 2024.

Οι ετήσιες λίστες περιλαμβάνουν κατηγορίες όπως Διεθνής Ταινία Μεγάλου Μήκους, Ντοκιμαντέρ, Ήχος, Πρωτότυπη Μουσική, Πρωτότυπο Τραγούδι, Μακιγιάζ και Χτένισμα, Οπτικά Εφέ, Μικρού Μήκους Ταινία Ζωντανής Δράσης, Μικρού Μήκους Ντοκιμαντέρ και Μικρού Μήκους Ταινία Κινουμένων Σχεδίων. Αυτές οι λίστες αποκαλύφθηκαν έναν μήνα πριν την πλήρη ανακοίνωση των υποψηφιοτήτων για τα Όσκαρ.
Τα αναμενόμενα φαβορί για τα φετινά Όσκαρ, όπως το “Killers of the Flower Moon”, το “Barbie”, το “Poor Things” και το “Maestro”βρέθηκαν σε διάφορες κατηγορίες. Η “Barbie” ηγήθηκε με πέντε υποψηφιότητες στη βραχεία λίστα, το “Killers of the Flower Moon” είχε τέσσερις, ενώ τα “The Color Purple”, “Oppenheimer” και “Poor Things” απέσπασαν από τρεις υποψηφιότητες.
Η ψηφοφορία για τις υποψηφιότητες των Όσκαρ έχει προγραμματιστεί να λάβει χώρα από τις 11 έως τις 16 Ιανουαρίου, ενώ οι επίσημες υποψηφιότητες θα ανακοινωθούν στις 23 Ιανουαρίου. Η τελική φάση της ψηφοφορίας θα διεξαχθεί από τις 22 έως τις 27 Φεβρουαρίου, ενώ η 96η ετήσια απονομή των βραβείων Όσκαρ έχει προγραμματιστεί για τις 10 Μαρτίου.
Σε ένα ενδιαφέρον επιπλέον στοιχείο, η viral μπαλάντα “I’m Just Ken” της Barbie, που ερμηνεύει και υπογράφει ο ηθοποιός Ryan Gosling, περιλαμβάνεται στη λίστα των υποψηφίων τραγουδιών για το καλύτερο πρωτότυπο τραγούδι. Αυτό το κομμάτι συνοδεύεται από άλλα τραγούδια της “Barbie,” μεταξύ των οποίων βρίσκονται και συνεισφορές από τις υποψηφίες για Όσκαρ τραγουδίστριες Billie Eilish και Dua Lipa.
